BFBBMix is a work-in-progress full game mod of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom created by skyweiss with help from other members of the modding community. Its name is a portmanteau of "BFBB" and "remix."

How to play on Dolphin (recommended)

The most stable way to play BFBBMix is by playing the GameCube version on Dolphin as loose files. Obtain a GameCube copy of Battle for Bikini Bottom as an ISO file, then follow these steps.

  1. Download the latest development or beta version of Dolphin.
  2. Follow the Setting up Dolphin for modding guide to extract Battle for Bikini Bottom's files.
  3. Download the latest version of BFBBMix.
  4. Extract the .zip file into the files folder of your extracted game. Ensure this replaces some files. (Note: You can ignore or delete the &&systemdata folder for this installation method.)
  5. Add the sys folder of your extracted game to the Paths in Dolphin.

How to make a GameCube ISO

You can also play the GameCube version of BFBBMix as an ISO file, usually done to play on Nintendont. Obtain a GameCube copy of Battle for Bikini Bottom as an ISO file, then follow these steps.

  1. Download and open Gamecube Rebuilder.
  2. Click Image > Open and find your ISO of Battle for Bikini Bottom.
  3. On the right side of the window, right-click the root tree with the disc icon and click Export, then find a folder to store BFBBMix in. We'll call this your BFBBMix folder.
  4. Click Image > Close.
  5. Download the latest version of BFBBMix.
  6. Extract the .zip file into the root folder inside your BFBBMix folder.
  7. In GameCube Rebuilder, ensure the checkbox next to Options > Do not use 'game.toc' is checked. Then click Root > Open and find the root folder inside your BFBBMix folder.
  8. Click Root > Save and choose a location to save your BFBBMix ISO.
  9. Click Root > Rebuild.

How to play on Xbox

To play BFBBMix on Xbox, you will need a softmodded Xbox with a dashboard such as UnleashX.

  1. Use tools (such as Qwix) to extract the contents of a Battle for Bikini Bottom Xbox copy to your PC's hard drive, exposing the game's filesystem.
  2. Download the latest Xbox version of BFBBMix.
  3. Extract BFBBMix so that it replaces files in your extracted copy of Battle for Bikini Bottom.
  4. Transfer the game to your Xbox as you would with any backup copy, e.g. using a file transfer client like Filezilla.
